Rev. Bruce Chute is the pastor emeritus of the Third Street Methodist Church. He retired at the beginning of 2019.

Rev. Chute was born and raised in Rhode Island, which makes him a New England Yankee (please forgive him). He attended the Graniteville Baptist Church where he began teaching the Bible and playing piano or organ for his church as a teenager.

He then came to the University of Louisville, where he received his B.A. degree in mathematics, his M.A.T. degree in physics, and his certification as a teacher. He is a 36 year retired high school teacher, department head, and principal.

While in Louisville, Rev. Chute met and married Linda Spence. They were married for almost 49 years when she passed away in 2013. They were a ministry team for all their married life, starting as youth pastors just one year after marriage. Linda was an anointed singer and children's teacher.

Rev. Chute's studies have continued in Bible study and Bible teaching. He is an ordained minister, a keyboard musician, praise and worship leader, youth pastor, assistant pastor, or senior pastor for over 55 years.

Rev. Chute's interest, first and foremost, is the Bible and a relationship with the Lord. With a love for teaching, he is always excited about sharing what the Lord has revealed to him about spiritual things. His ministry has been a teaching ministry in the body of Christ.
